Michael has been selected every year by [Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors](https://www.castleconnolly.com/doctors/) since 2015. He has also been selected every year by New York Magazine's Top Doctors in since 2018.  He is the recipient of numerous teaching awards and has trained over 100 surgical residents and fellows since 2009. Recently, he served on the curriculum planning committee for the new Seton Hall Hackensack-Meridian School of Medicine.   Michael completed his undergraduate degree, graduating with honors from the University of Pennsylvania. He then went on to receive his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.   Michael completed his general surgery residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he served as the Administrative Chief Resident during his final year. He then completed the prestigious Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Fellowship of Washington University, in St. Louis, MO where he focused on the open and endovascular treatments of complex aortic pathologies, in both the chest and the abdomen. He is one of the leaders in the field on Fenestrated Aortic Stenting, and now serves as a regional and national proctor for this procedure. Michael's other areas of expertise include the open and endovascular treatment of [Carotid Artery Disease](http://www.bergensurgicalspecialistspa.com/what-is-carotid-artery-disease/), minimally invasive treatments of lower extremity arterial disease, and [Thoracic Outlet Syndrome](http://www.bergensurgicalspecialistspa.com/what-is-thoracic-outlet-syndrome-tos/).   In his spare time, Michael enjoys traveling, playing golf, live music and performing arts, and spending time with family. He is an Officer on the Tenafly Board of Education, where he worked tirelessly to plan, implement and ensure a safe re-opening of schools during the COVID-19 pandemic.
