Aurielle Wilderman

Aurielle Wilderman, MA, LSW, PMH-C

Aurielle is the first ever Certified Perinatal Mental Health specialist to merge nonprofit governance and reproductive mental health.  She created The Wilderman Fund in response to the healthcare scarcity she experienced when suffering from perinatal mood disorders that nearly ended her life.  As a carrier of BRCA2 and CHEK2 genetic mutations, she went on to experience these same mental health gaps during and after her prophylactic double mastectomies, total hysterectomy, and instant menopause in her 30s. Her practice centers on the treatment of reproductive psychiatric disorders and sexuality across the female reproductive lifespan and menopause.  Aurielle has adapted these experiences to inform systemic change, improve access to equitable mental health care, and improve knowledge and the treatment of reproductive mental health.

The Wilderman Fund is the first and only independent, nonprofit organization in its area devoted solely to Maternal Mental Health, and among only a few in the country.  Aurielle has over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector and is responsible for the education of scientists, corporate teams and wealth managers, celebrities, and professional athletes on the benefits of philanthropy.

Aurielle graduated from Washington University in Saint Louis with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Minor in Art History.  Her Masters Degree in Nonprofit Management is also from Washington University in Saint Louis. Aurielle earned her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan School of Social Work.  Her advanced training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders is from Postpartum Support International.  She is a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists.

Aurielle is a global traveler, speaks fluent French, and is conversant in Spanish, Arabic and Farsi. She enjoys visual and performing arts, Muay Thai and Kyokushin Karate, cooking, violin, tennis. Her dream is to train martial arts in Thailand and Japan. She now resides in the New York City suburbs with her husband and their only child.
